Meet Troy: A Passionate Advocate for Recovery Through Massage

Troy began his journey into massage therapy at Everest Institute in Tigard, Oregon, graduating in 2017. His interest in injury treatment was sparked by a snowboarding injury he experienced while still in training. This personal encounter with the benefits of massage therapy inspired his career focus on helping others heal from similar challenges.

After earning his license, Troy started his career at a spa near Vancouver, WA, where he naturally gravitated toward clients seeking injury treatment. With a few years of experience under his belt, he moved to a spa in Seattle, continuing to refine his skills over four more years. Despite primarily working in spa environments, injury treatment has always been at the heart of Troy’s practice. Joining the team at UTB has allowed him to fully embrace his passion for recovery-focused therapy, making a meaningful impact on his clients’ lives.

Troy specializes in addressing shoulder tears, frozen shoulder, post-operative joint replacements, auto accident injuries, and tension headaches. He thrives on the challenge of solving complex cases and is especially motivated to assist clients who have not found relief through other methods like physical therapy. His dedication to improving the well-being of others drives his ongoing commitment to learning and growth in the massage field.

Recently, Troy completed training in Gua Sha Therapy and regularly incorporates Cupping Therapy—both dynamic and static—into his sessions. He also uses tuning forks for vibrational therapy when appropriate. His signature technique combines a flowing, lomi lomi-inspired approach to establish relaxation, followed by deep, targeted treatment work for effective healing.

Outside the clinic, Troy enjoys snowboarding in the mountains, backpacking in the great outdoors, experimenting with haute cuisine in his kitchen, and pampering his two beloved puppies.
