Long Covid or Post Covid Syndrome is a wide range of ongoing health issues which may be present just after initially recovering from Covid-19 infection or may onset long after “recovery”. Even people who were asymptomatic or had mild symptoms can experience long covid. These symptoms can range in severity and length of time, with many not connecting the new ailment with their previous Covid-19 infection. The medical community calls these long covid symptoms Post- Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection or PASC. According to the American Medical Association’s website: Up to 10 million Americans are likely to experience long COVID, and of those who had COVID-19, 10–30% experienced at least one persistent symptom up to six months after their infection was cleared. Many of our modalities offered have been reported by clients helping to decrease their post covid symptoms helping them to regain function and quality of life. Let our providers support your body and facilitate wellbeing.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a Manual Therapy Technique which can be utilized in conjunction with a Massage Therapy Session or completely separate. MLD is a gentle, lighter pressure, rhythmic technique helping facilitate waste exchange in tissues and assists the body to rid itself of stagnant interstitial fluid and toxins, boost your immune function, and provide essential opportunities to create a reset when recovering from many long term chronic systemic dysfunctions like post covid syndrome. It is vitally important to the body that the Lymphatic System works at its optimum because no matter what the purpose or job a particular cell is, they all need nourished and cleaned. By opening up the bodies natural system of waste removal first and assisting vessels which drain into that system to actively move fluid, this modality has been shown to aid in general body detoxification. For more information about this technique check out this link to the modality page.
Cupping Therapy
By creating suction and negative pressure, Massage Cupping Therapy is used to soften tight muscles, loosen adhesions, and separate layers of connective tissue to bring hydration and blood flow to body tissues. Massage cupping bodywork is versatile and can easily be modified to accomplish a range of techniques, from facilitation of lymphatic drainage to deep-tissue myofascial release. Cupping can be extremely helpful for breathing issues post covid helping to break up intercostal scar tissue and diaphragmatic dysfunction once cleared by a doctor post covid. In addition to the benefits on breathing, the suction also pulls toxins, pathogenic factors, blood poison, dead lymph and cellular debris from deep within tissues to the skin. These toxic agents are then more easily expelled from the body with the use of massage cupping. Click here to learn more about other benefits of Cupping Therapy.
Gua Sha Therapy
Gua Sha is a fascial release method which utilizes a stone tool to aid in the release of adhesions and scar tissue in the body. Post respiratory infection, pneumonia, people who have breathing issues, or those who sit for long periods of time are especially susceptible to adhesions in their chest, diaphragm, and neck and intercostal muscles which aid in inspiration and exhalation. By using Gua Sha during a bodywork session on these areas one could have improved breathing ability by releasing these fascial restrictions. For more about Gua Sha click here.
Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy is a light touch method of manual therapy focusing on fascia, connective tissues, the nervous system and movement of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain and spinal cord. By normalizing the environment around the brain and spinal cord and enhancing the body’s ability to self-correct, Craniosacral Therapy is able to alleviate a wide variety of dysfunctions. Craniosacral Therapy has helped decrease nerve, organ, brain, immune, digestive, and sleep issues in clients who have sought care post covid infection in our clinic. When one has tried traditional Western medicine and not had relief, this modality can sometimes be a help. For more information about Craniosacral Therapy at UTB click here.
Myofascial Release & Adhesion Release
Tissue which has been stagnant due to prolonged illness or lack of movement can start to adhere and become less mobile, this can cause diffuse inflammation, perceived “tightness” in the body and can restrict proper lymph flow and circulation. Booking a session to focus specifically on the fascia has been helpful to many in their recovery post covid in our clinic.
Reiki or Chakra Balancing
Reiki and Chakra Balancing are energy modalities which use light touch to help realign energy centers and facilitate movement of energy in our systems.
